
Addiction is a state in which the body relies on a substance for normal functioning and when the substance suddenly stops, it will cause withdrawal, a characteristic set of signs and symptoms. The dependence is so strong that it may seem as if the person is unable to break away from the dependence. However, why do people become addicted to drugs? The reason of drug addiction are the mental, emotional and psychological condition of the people. It is well known that depressed people are commonly addicted to drug. Since drugs provide a release from these feelings, people are addicted to drugs. Plus, particularly for young people, a lack of attachment with your parents may increase the risk of addiction. Furthermore, some drugs, such as heroin and cocaine, more quickly result in physical addiction than do others.
