Addiction in my life

Usually, I don't do computer games and watch television much. I was used to addicted to television, but I have quit from it few years ago because of my mother. However, currently, I can't stop using internet and SMS. In case of internet, I have to use it for my homework and to chat with my friends. In addition, I always move around with my mobile phone and I am usually bored if I don't do SMS with others. My parents don't like me moving around with the phone in my hand, thus they always try to persuade me to stop using cellphone. I think I can give up SMS if my parents force me to, but not the internet. However, if I really want to quit from using internet and cellphone, I think I can do it by myself. Overall, this project gave me an opportunity to learn how hard is it to combat the drug use. Compare to my case, quit from the drug addiction is easy to give up and because it effects physically and psychologically, it destroys human. I could re-understand the drug from new point of view and it changed my concept about drug.

How do you help drug abuser?

First, I will try to persuade them by telling them some tragedies that drug brings. However, in my opinion, I think they won't admit the fact that they are addicted and the situation that they are in. Therefore, I would remove all the drugs and make them to admit the fact that they are actually addicted to drug. Then, I will send them for rehab or arrange an appointment with counselor. However, I think the most important think for drug abuser is their will to stop abusing drugs. Thus, I will try my best to change their mind by talking about their family and cheering them up.

Helping drug addicted friend

Step1:
Admit you have a problem and may well be addicted
Step2:
Remove as many drugs as you can from your home, even if they're legal, except prescription ones
Step3:
Every morning when you wake up, say to yourself "I won't take any drugs today". Say it atleast three times
Step4:
Try to substitute your drugs for vitamin tablets or otherthing.
Step5:
Get an elastic band and put the elastic band on your wrist, so that it's comfortable. Keep it on at all times and whenever you feel a desire to take a drug, snap the elastic band against your wrist
Step6:
Whenever you feel you want to take a drug, just stop for a moment. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and tell yourself you don't want to take the drug
Step7:
Let at least one trusted person know about your addiction and ask them to cheer you up when you feel deperssed

Affect of Drug to my family and to the community.

If one of my family starts abusing drugs, my family will change to violent. First, my parents will blame each other about the irresponsibillity. In addition, there will be argument between drug abused member and other. These kinds of quarrel can lead to fight and it will break the peace of my family. To deal with the individual, there will be some punishments such as grounding, limiting freedom and corporal punishment. Plus, my parents will arrange an appointment between the doctor or the counselor and send for rehab. This might affect the community. Our neighbors might humiliate our family and destroy the relationship between our family and the neighbors.

My own stress-free and endorphin releasing activities

I usually spend time with my friends to get rid of the stress and to release endorphin. First, after the exam week, I always go to Korean Karaoke to sing. While I am singing, I can scream out loud and free the stress I gained during the exam. Second, to release endorphin, I watch funny movies. Whenever I laugh out loud while I am watching movie, endorphin gets released. Currently, I do the dancing with my friends. It is for the festival but whenever we are stressed out, I practice for the festival. If I see that I am improving, it makes me exciting. Therefore, these are my own stress-free and endorphin releasing activities.
